There are differing reports as to trip length. 20 miles +/- a bit seems to be about right. This is a very nice trail. After you cross the dry river bed it gets very steep very quickly for about 1.5 miles. Then it tapers off to a steady grind till you get to the summit. It took me 5.25 hrs up and 4.5 hrs down with an additional  45 minutes at the summit. A 10.5 hour journey. This was my first time on the trail and didn’t know how reliable the water sources would be. I carried five quarts. Drank three on the way up and two on the way down. The last part of the trip was warm. It was 90F when I got to the car. It had been 60 when I left and high 50’s at the summit. This was the most tiring of the summit series for me. Distance and late afternoon temps the major factor.

I have done 7 of the hikes on the series. I have found Bernardino to be the prettiest. Baldy old trail the hardest and my favorite.

Very happy I signed up for this group. My plans going forward are to repeat some of the peaks on the list I have already done
