This was one of the hardest and roughest hikes I have ever done.  I have done Mt. Grogornio and Mt. Hood – both were easier.  Traveling up Half Dome was easier, I have done it a few times.  What made this mountain hell.   Let's start with little tree coverage…lots of dust.  Water was only available one way to peak when your bag is full… way back to lot we ran into a very small puddle of water, not good.  It burns you on the first incline… then kicks you the gut on the second and third incline.   I have done most of the SoCal Peaks and this one reminded me of Mt. San Jacinto – I did not enjoy it either.  This one takes the cake.  I would do the Rose again versus ever do this one again.   Thank goodness for a good hiking buddy.  What the say is true… it is a very isolated hike with almost zero internet, only had service briefly at the top.
