I started my hike at 8:39 AM at Manker Flats. The weather was ideal in that the sun was out and there was a lovely breeze. As it was my first attempt at hiking Mt. Baldy, and my first time on this trail, I didn't know what to expect.  The trail was maintained enough so I was comfortable ascending the mountain. As a solo hiker, my safety is of paramount importance. Did I feel safe? On a Saturday, yes. Not sure I would feel safe on weekdays because God forbid something happened (attack/accident). In any case, I'm well prepared to fend off all types of predators.

*Hike highlights:

-conquering the Devil's Backbone Trail

-reaching Mt. Baldy peak

-Baldy Bowl trail was lovely, more to look at than hike up

-feeling accomplished 6 hours later
