You definitely need snow grips , hiking poles would be helpful as well. We weren’t expecting so much snow at the peak (being May) luckily we dressed for it.
we took the tram from Palm Springs and hiked from there, we started at 9am and finished at 5pm. 5 hours up and 3 hours down.
we both carried 3 liters of water, dry fruit & protein bars.
