The hike up Mt. San Jacinto via the Marion Mountain Trail was indeed a steep hike, as indicated on Social Hiker. I thought about doing the loop instead, but figured I might as well finish what I had started. I found that at certain spots, the trail wasn't obvious or easy to make out. I ended up going off trail (unbeknownst to me) & took about 30 minutes to trudge through the bushwack to find my way back to the trail. Thankfully, I had downloaded the trail on the AllTrails app. The hike passed through wildflowers, creeks, and campgrounds. The last rock scramble up to the peak was definitely the last bit of energy I had in reserve. The view from the top…priceless!
