Need a permit to enter the state park. Read somewhere that you can grab one in Stone Creek Campground on the way to the trailhead. We started late last night and was surprised there's a ranger on duty. Ranger Nick! Cool guy. He even checked up on us today to make sure we didn't become bear food.

We were hoping to view the Perseid Meteor Shower up the summit – we did see a couple. Super cool. There's actually a light ordinance in Riverside or just Idyllwild to lessen light pollution. Again, super cool.
