Although we've hiked this peak several times previously, and from different trailheads, it never disappoints. This time we entered via the Palm Springs Aerial Tram and it was a great day. Initially our concern was that the day would heat up, but it turned out to be a gorgeous, overcast day with the sun peeking out at the perfect times. We all did well and submitted with no problem. The shuffle up (and down) the boulders at the summit are always challenging, but worth the climb. It was very cool and breezy at the top. My friend Kerry found a beautiful, heart-shaped piece of wood and I happened upon an absolutely gorgeous butterfly, moth or ??? Pictured below. He landed on the trail right in front of me as we were descending. We topped the day off with cheers a drink at the Aerial Tram Mountain Station bar. Five of the Six-Pack of Peaks done and one to go!
