The trail was awesome and, as a newbie hiker, a bit more challenging than I initially thought. This was my first peak of the challenge. The trail naturally starts to head downhill which confused me a bit. I asked other hikers if they knew the way to the top and most of them said that their hike had always been going up and that this trail was only a loop. I decided to keep going and I reached a cabin where the trail splits in two. There is a sign with directions at this spot. If you're trying to reach the top, take a left and keep going for ~6 miles. This is where things got really nice. You're really deep in the forest and will notice how the microclimates change as you gain elevation. I'm looking forward to knowing and speaking the hiking terms and to the next peak!
