I was a bit afraid to do this hike New Years Day as there was a high wind advisory and it had been howling all night. I asked on the socalhiker fb page about this and people assured me it should be fine. I am so glad I went!! The weather was perfect and the trail from Sierra Madre was beautiful. I am not in the shape I wish I was so this hike was extremely hard for me and I did not finish until after dark. I was prepared though so all was well. It was funny to see a parking lot at the top and I was tempted to uber down but went ahead and finished my hike. 🙂
