Hike Log

My longest hike so far. It was ab adventure! We encountered rain, sleet, snow, and fog.

Trailhead:

Chantry Flats

Type of Hike:

Day hike

Trail Conditions:

Minor obstacles posing few problems

ROAD:

Road suitable for all vehicles

Bugs:

No bugs

Snow:

Snowfields to cross – could be difficult

Our group of 12 started at Chantry Flats in the rain.  There were a couple of down trees on the trail we had to climb over, a few little waterfalls, and lots of mud.  About 5miles in we put on our microspikes and headed up the summit. On the fire road up we were greeted with snowfall. Once we reached the peak, the observatory and cafe were closed and we could not see the beautiful view because of the fog. It took us about 10hrs to complete the whole hike. Our group age ranged from 38 to 65. They are all such inspiring and awesome work family.
