Sitton Peak! The lowest of the SoCal Six pack! A nice moderate hike in Orange County! Easy Saturday, right?

No. It was agonizing.

Here's the thing. Sometimes easy trails suck. Because they're boring. And most of Sitton Peak's trail was easy but boring. Not a lot of views, definitely some clusters of bugs, lots of sun exposure, and the occasional little windy track in the dust that reminds you there are lots of rattlesnakes around (yikes). Then the trail descends a bit, and the last half mile or so to the summit is extremely steep and sandy. I also made the mistake of going to dinner last night wearing a pair of shoes that haven't gotten a lot of mileage since COVID hit, so my heels got blistered and one of the blisters burst on the hike. Ouch.

BUT! Now I'm halfway to the Six Pack… and a friend told me he wants to hike Strawberry with me tomorrow, so I guess we're gonna be at 4 soon. Onward!
