High point

Last year I finished with high point so this year I decided to start with it. The drive to the trail head was easy like always, once at the parking lot. I had to manage my gear plus get Roxy ready for the hike ahead. I contemplated in taking micro spikes but wasn't sure it's a good thing I did took them with me. Like always the trail starts moderate and then it just gets stupid steep. What I like about this hike is the altitude gain in the first 2 miles it's nice to look back and see the views in just a mile in the hike.

This day Roxy was being a punk, I was getting a bit irritated with her since she just wanted to go as fast as she could and I can't enjoy the hike while I have her on a leash. I decided to unleash her since we were the only ones on the mountain. Like I said this dog wanted to just go as fast as you can. I told her ” slow down, we have 13 miles of this save your strength” but she's a dog she don't understand lol. Anyways once the brutal steepness from the first two miles was done you could see in the distance, san jacinto, gorgonio and baldy full of snow amazing views.

We took rest 3 miles in to get some liquids to Roxy and managed all the gear I was carrying, go pro and such. Last year there was more snow way more but I did went by the end of January then.  Not alot of snow but I did had to put my crampons just in case my shoes didn't have enough grip and I didn't eat it. The trail is well keept my favorite part of the trail is when it becomes a forest with trees left and right plus the white snow makes it an even amazing experience. Once we made it to the summit we had it all to ourselfs, we rested for a good 30 minutes till we decided to head back on our decend.

On our decend Roxy decided to get the zoomies which I don't mind it's all downhill it was fun seeing her have the time of her life. She loves the snow she's an amazing dog, anyways on our way down we encounter one other hiker with his dog. We keep going down and we encounter another hiker 2 hikers that Sunday. Over all its a great hike never done it without snow maybe it's time to do it then.  We managed to finish the hike with a time of 5 hours not bad but we were taking our time. And with that the start of our six pack challenge started.
