We definitely saved the easiest hike for our final hike, what a lovely little trail. Through tonnes of sage brush and tall grass, very much the ‘high desert’!  Once again we were hiking out of the smoke from fires, so breathing clean air the higher we hiked, but the views were obscured at the top.

A great end to a great week of hiking, and personally, grateful to not be climbing up volcanic ash and rock for once!  Thanks for the great challenge, we enjoyed it!

  1. Curious how many miles? Having an awful time finding good info on this hike and also contradictory info. Thanks for whatever you can tell me. 🙂

  2. We did about 6.3 miles, and just over 1500 feet elevation gain. I think you can do a circuit, or up and then down. And I think you can drive up further to a higher up start – hence, likely, the differing numbers!!!! Have fun – we’re staying at a place in Sunriver, and it took us about an hour 40 minutes to get there…..
