We began the hike at the Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve Trailhead gateway and hiked up the old fire road until the lower junction of the Five Oaks Trail. We took this scenic trail 1.2 miles and got back onto the old fire road at the upper junction. The remaining 1.45 miles up the old fire road had some awesome views. The peak offers some picturesque photo opportunities as well. We located the Norman Glover peak marker No.1, snapped a few photos then made are way back down the old fire road. It was a bit windy, somewhat chilly, but overall a beautiful day for a hike.
