We started off the hike early in the morning so that we have enough time to get to the peak. We knew that this is a steep one going in and expected the climb to be hard. We had some amazing views as the sun rose. After the “shortcut”, we took a break at the bench and thought that the difficult part is over. But there was a lot of climbing on the way back to the trailhead. We lost some elevation only to gain it back. The “Poverty Flat Road” was not flat at all 🙂 Overall it is a difficult hike and pack lots of water as there is no water source on the way.
After we finished the hike, we grabbed some coffee at the headquarters.
