This beast!  This has been on my to do list for awhile, especially in preparing for Whitney next month.  We started about an hour before sunrise to beat the head as well as get an early start.  Absolutely stunning of a hike, especially in the first 5 miles.  The trees, and early start, led to a shady beginning. We even ran into a deer!  Water was abundent, all the way to the last camp site.  Then, you really feel the burn.  Switchbacks weren't horrible, but those last couple of miles were never ending.  However, of course the summit and views were all worth it.  Beautiful weather all around as well.  Then, you do down.  My legs were ok, just body was tired and feet hurt.  A little less enjoyable just because you're exhausted, but nothing I won't do again!  Whitney, here I come!
