This was an awesome hike! But I do have to admit that it was a killer of a hike. I am in good shape but the altitude played a huge factor and I was slower going up than I anticipated. The trail was in great condition and it was a beautiful day. Tons of wildflowers and plenty of squirrels running around. The worst part for me was hiking back down, the steepness of the decline really put pressure on my knees and the only thing that saved me was my trekking poles, which I relied on heavily. I am pretty sore today but feel so accomplished! It was a great hike and I'd love to try it again someday.
