Cool and Crisp but sunny today…was thankful to have several layers and at the last minute decided to wear a light windbreaker. Good decision since the wind was whipping at the Saddle (half way point) and I was happy that I had the extra protection. The trail is actually pretty easy with only a few obstacles to Maneuver over. Several large trees blocking the trail and if you’re vertically challenged like me (5’2) you can tuck under them with ease. Made it to the peak in 3+ hours, took about 20 minutes to pose in different spots for that perfect photo opt and then had a picnic lunch…what is it about hiking and eating?? I believe the egg salad/avocado sandwich I brought was the best thing I have ever tasted in my life! Ha!!! Headed down the mountain and made a few stops to chat with other hikers and more photos…encountered a Huge, black Rattler who luckily was off to the side in the bushes not blocking the trail. My friend’s boyfriend was our Chauffeur and  he was at the parking lot waiting patiently when we arrived. Thank you Mike!!! Felt like a princess to be dropped off and picked up right at the trail head! 😉
