The weather was a perfect sunny California day. Even though we’re in the midst of summer heat there was a cool breeze for most of the hike and lots of shade on this route compared to the Devils Backbone trail. This was our first summit and it felt like a steady incline. There were lots of rocks to get over but all was doable. The sound of the waterfall, creek and wind blowing through the trees was so peaceful. I was still exhausted by the end.
