Wow! I wasn’t expecting this hike to be my favorite of the six.

Here are the highlights:

  • Hiking the first few miles by moonlight.
  • Meteor flying over the peak.
  • Headlamp parade on the slopes above.
  • Sunrise over Broken Top.
  • In case you haven’t heard, hike is pretty steep.
  • Epic views the entire hike.
  • Only three others on the summit when I was there.
  • Passing and chatting with friendly hikers.

Not bad for the first self-permit day of the season!
