This was a first time to hike San Gorgonio on an overnight backpacking trip. We camped at High Creek campground on the first day (July 2) and summitted San Gorgonio the following morning (July 3) before heading back to our tents,  packing up and head back to our cars.  The weather was perfect. The night had some rain but I just pulled my gear outside the tent into the vestibule.  Red ants were an annoyance at High Creek campground though fortunately they tended to stay in just a few small areas and I didn't have any trouble with ants in the tent.  The only thing I made a mistake was I overpacked for this hike but otherwise the trip was good. No wildflower bloom but there were a few isolated wildflowers on the trail.  Part of the trail showed unmistakable remains that it was at the outer periphery of the burn area of one of the fires the previous year.
