For my sixth peak, I chose Cucamonga Peak.  I had hiked to Ontario Peak last fall but had not yet had a chance to do Cucamonga.   I started the hike a bit before 5 a.m. to beat the crowds and the heat.  However, Icehouse Canyon did not seem as crowded as when I had previously done the trail, probably because it was a holiday.  I actually had to wait about 15 minutes or so for someone else to come to the peak so that I could do THAT picture.

I love the scenery on the hike but Icehouse Canyon is always brutal on my feet.  I actually bought new and better hiking shoes after limping two and a half miles or so back to my car on the Ontario Peak hike.  It helped but no hike hurts my feet like this one.  Still worth it.

Although this is my sixth peak, I am really hoping to do all the peaks in the challenge. However, I will probably wait until fall before trying to take on San Jacinto and San Gorgonio.  I hope to do Sawmill and Ontario Peak in the next month or so and hope that the Holy Jim trail opens before the end of the year so I can do Santiago Peak on that route.
