A gorgeous but chilly day to complete my Six Pack of Peaks! Wow! What an adventure today!
We arrived early in the morning in our toasty warm car only to get out to 36 degree coldness…shocking start for sure. The first part of this hike is very steep although I hardly noticed because my hands were so freezing. After the sun came out, I started feeling much better and we made great time. Crossed a couple of pretty streams and I loved the redwood tree patches, the tall grasses and the gorgeous views of the mountains on both sides of the mountains. My favorite view point was at about 10,000 feet looking out to San Jacinto…we were just there looking out at San Gorgonio. Totally crazy! The clouds were spilling off the mountains like a slow motion waterfall. Up to the peak was very windy and even colder…35 mph winds and 36 degrees at the top. We quickly got our pictures and went back down to a little rocky wind shield and ate lunch and rested. The rest of the hike was happy and light, awesome conversation and what an amazing feeling to finish this challenge.
Congrats 6 pack of peakers! Lets celebrate!
