I hiked up to Cucamonga Peak and gently ran down on Friday, April 23. Started at 9:00 am (the parking lot was 75% full) and finished at 1:25 pm. Since it was Friday, there weren’t many people on the trail which was nice. The weather was absolutely PERFECT. It was warm and there was no wind at all (not even at the summit). I wore capri leggings and a short sleeved shirt over a long sleeved shirt. If anything, I was a bit warm. As for trail conditions, I had to take less than 50 steps over hard snow, otherwise the trail was completely dry. No need for micro spikes at all. Beautiful views at the top looking down at fluffy cloud cover. There were only 2 other people at the top when I arrived so we had the summit to ourselves. Great way to spend a day off work!
