We started the hike at 6:15 am to beat the crowd at the chip. The sunrise was gorgeous. This was a very steep climb but all paved and non-technical. It took about an hour and a half to reach the highest point with lots of breaks to catch my breath and rest the leg burn. When we got to the chip, there were only a few people waiting. I wanted to badly to go on the chip but could not climb the boulder to get up there. I lacked the upper body and hand strength to pull my self up. It looked like so much fun. Maybe next year!
Glad we went early as the people coming up the trail at 9:00 am looked very unhappy as it was starting to warm up.
