First Peak of the Challenge and of the 2020 in fact.

I've checked the weather conditions for this hike for two weeks and my patience was rewarded. Cloudy with chance of sunshine but windy as hell. Getting the is easy but long. Pay the guard $10 like Alltrails says. Then the paved road continues for about mile then the last couple thousand yards it turn into dirt but trailhead is real close. The trail was in good and dry condition until I reached the last mile or two towards the peak; gale winds were blowing the snow melt off the trees, looking like raining icicles causing the trail to be muddy in some parts. Despite the cloudy and icy windy conditions, breaks in the clouds allowed for a glorious sunshine and partial views of the Palomar Mountains, Mt. San Jacinto, and Anzo-Borrego Desert. I will definitely return here again during clear conditions next time.
