I woke up at 3:15am at sea level, and only hours later I found myself in Idyllwild ready time summit to 10,800 altitude. The trek up starting at Marion Mt. was tough. There were some great view points and it was wonderful to be in the pretty nature. The higher altitude we went, the more I could feel the burn in my legs. Closer to the top I definitely felt a little bit light headed and tired, but I pushed on. When we thought there was about a mile left, we had even longer to go plus a big rock scramble. Finally we made it to the top and the views were incredible. The summit was a big rock scramble. To the left I saw Palm Springs and the desert. To the right I saw Lake Elsinore. Behind me was San G. It was absolutely beautiful, and the hardest/highest altitude to date. I was hurting in my feet on the way down. Not sure why this hike felt the hardest of all I’ve done so far, but it was the biggest accomplishment.
