The weather was warm but tolerable at the base of Cucamonga Peak. At the summit, it was breezy and cool. The views were absolutely stunning, especially with Baldy, San Jacinto, and San Gorgonio all boasting snowy peaks. Getting a chance to hold the peak sign was so fun, and we took a ton of pictures!
The trail itself was awful. The continuous rocks were a hazard to ankles, shins, and bums alike. It feels like walking through riverbeds, but while scaling the mountain itself. I fell and hurt myself pretty badly coming down, and I wasn't the only one. Especially since the trail gets so crowded, you end up losing your pace while waiting for people to pass along very narrow paths(and we started our hike at 6 AM).
While climbing up the mountain was mostly enjoyable, I don't think I would do this peak again. With Baldy next on our list, I'm worried it will have similar conditions.
