Rose Peak from Sunol

Woot! This is my sixth of six, and my longest hike in about 10 years! The weather was great, and so were the hiking companions. We entered the park at 8AM, and exited at 5:30PM. (Official closing time, in the winter is 5:00, but we called ahead and confirmed we can exit after 5:00). At 19 miles and 4100 vertical feet, this is the easiest route, but not by much!)

Beautiful blue skies, after the morning haze cleared, and a high temperature around 60F, made it perfect hiking weather. We all started with 5 to 6 liters of water, and ended dumping some along the way. We would have needed 6 liters in warmer weather, but not today! Are you ready for the 2019 Challenge?

GPX Track: Going past Little Yosemite (Camp Ohlone Road). then north on Backpacker Road, saves a bit of elevation. https://www.strava.com/activities/2007499730
