This was an incredibly hard hike. We packed about 3L of water each and nearly ran out by the end due to the 90*+ temps and crazy long, steep trail. The views across the expansive wilderness were amazing, and crazy to think exists that close to the Bay Area urban chaos. It was definitely the hardest hike we've done but well worth it. The chunks along Middle Ridge were peaceful, with the bench at the top of the big incline a great lunch and rest spot.
