I am so happy that San Bernardino Peak trail has reopened since the fire of 2020.  I am saddened by the devastation that I saw. What was once the most beautiful hike In the San Bernardino forest, is now barren and charred.  The lack of shade on the trail now makes it a much more difficult hike. Nonetheless, my group and I had a wonderful hike. We were a group of 10 and 5 of the hikers had never summited San Bernardino Peak before.   Wild flowers are beginning to bloom. It's like beauty from ashes.  There are still several patches of snow near the summit, but Microspikes were not necessary.  We had perfect weather and mild breezes. It was a great day!
