This started as a solo hike for me at about 6:15 am, still dark with the sky beginning to light up. There were no other cars in the parking lot so I was worried if I was in the wrong place when 2 other hikers pulled up. A slow and steady pace as I climbed the switchbacks until I hit the manzanitas. The sun was out but the high bushes made it feel like I was in tunnels, very peaceful although I was glad to have worn pants. I stopped at the Washington Monument to log a geocache before making my summit bid. I reached the summit about 5-10 minutes before the 2 other hikers reached it. We all enjoyed lunch, helped each other with pictures and victory poses while swapping hiking and life stories. On the way down I visited the bench and enjoyed the spectacular view. I followed the ladies down which helped my pace since it felt like it was getting late. I reached the car at about 5:30 so glad to peel off socks and get into something more comfortable. That was peak #6 for me. Still planon finishing more since my GF and I are attempting San Jacinto this weekend.
