Climbed to Lumber Pine Campground, set up camp, then proceeded to the peak. We knew all week that there would be strong winds in the area. They turned out to be correct. By the time we got back to our site from the peak, the winds were whipping around 35mph, by 6pm we decided we had had enough of standing outside and hit the tent. During the night, gusts were, at my best guess around 60-70 mph. One bright side were the clouds that were prevalent in the area. Moving at incredible speeds over hill tops to eventually literally swallowing the campground.
