Never in my life time did I imagine I would accomplish something this huge! I clocked in 10hours mostly because we were taking our time and going at our own pace hiking. I felt pretty proud because I did it alone.(My husband keeps getting elevation sickness that he passed on the hike). There weren't a lot of hikers to begin with but slowly more and more hikers kept passing me up. By the time I got to the top and was hanging out more people were arriving. There were some spots in which you could get more water but you need a filter for it. On the way down I ran into 2 gals that were taking a break and asked if I wanted to join them for the rest of the way. They did hike extremely fast but during that time we had such fun conversations that's it didn't seem terrible. My knees were starting to ache during that last mile down which thankfully I had my knee braces to help. There are a lot of bugs which I had to learn the hard way that I had forgotten to put on bug spray. Again thankfully I packed some which I was able to stop and spray some on me. Before coming down I sprayed some more bug spray that helped me on my way down. Saw some people that only did a few miles and had to turn back. If I had not been training then I would have probably had to do the same. Definitely a hike that needed all my preparation and devotion.
