Long but epic.  Clocked in at 19.3 miles, + 5,420 ft gain.  Epic beautiful trail in the beginning, saw 2 baby deer.  Nice meadows and grass/trees in the beginning.  First mile or 2 are the hardest – very steep.  Then it levels out and becomes easier.  Various camps along the way.  Water flowing but not much.  After High Camp you get to the “burn scar” area – very sad and can still smell the fire.  After that it becomes exposed and rocky.  Brutal last climb to the peak.  Cool views of San J and you can see Baldy in the distance. Overall a great hike!
