Contemplated whether to hit the mountains after the 2 recent big earthquakes. Was concerned about rocks tumbling. Read the mountains would absorb the shock so I went for it..the highest peak in the area, San Gorgonio. Arrived at the Vivian Creek trailhead parking lot at 5:30am and the lot was half full. Despite that, the trail wasn't crowded. Trail is easy to follow. Wildflowers are still in bloom. The creek is refreshingly cold, most welcomed on the way down. Snow patches was a plus for picture taking. Views from the top is spectacular. This was a challenging and rewarding hike, I did it!
