Day One Aug. 4, 2019 started at the Vivian Creek Trailhead at 9:15AM.  A buddy of mine and I hiked up and dropped packs, found campsite, and left High Creek camp at 3PM to the summit of Gorgonio.  We reached the summit at 5:30PM and arrived back at High Creek Camp around 7:30PM.  Day Two:  We left High Creek Camp the next morning and finished back at the Vivian Creek Trailhed before noon.

Weather:  Early morning at lower elevation was in the 80s.  It got cooler as the day and elevation went on.  Overnight temps at High Creek were very comfortable (mid 40s to lower 50s).

Water:  We saw water at multiple times before Halfway Camp and in intermittent sections all the way up to High Creek Camp.  There was ample water at High Creek but, that was the last chance for water.

Bugs:  They were present but, not a nuisance.

Trail condition:  the trail in spots was very rocky but, nothing I haven't seen on any other trails in the area.  Other parts of the trail, beautifully maintained.

Permits:  Be ready to show your wilderness permits for overnight camping at any time, as there were rangers we met on the trail that asked for them.  I was happy to comply.

Trash:  Please pack out what you pack in.  I packed out multiple pieces of gel pack and food packaging rubbish, a cardboard box, a bungee cord, and a water bottle filled with stove fuel.  Come on people!
