Trail was well-marked, easy to follow. There's no water to filter for the first 6 miles or so, but once you get closer to Little Round Valley there is plenty. Bugs weren't a big issue except at night, when the mosquitos came out. Highly recommend staying at Little Round Valley, it's well-maintained and only has 6-8 campsites. We summited in the morning and came back down via the loop trail (Wellman's Cienega to PCT).
