My daughter and I started at the tramway, made our way to Round Valley campground to set up camp and then summited the peak. The trail was well manicured and yes, the boulders at the top were a challenge, but manageable. The weather was perfect… slight breezes and the temperature was fair. We used a lot of water. We saw a medium sized deer along the way… that was a treat. We lost a cell phone on the way up, but some wonderful hiker(s) turned it in to the ranger station …thank you hiker(s), thanks ranger station and thanks tramway staff (who is shipping it to us). Gorgeous views at the top and along the way. We returned to the campsite right before dark. It was my daughter’s first time camping in a tent and she had a blast. This made the trip all that more special, even though the last stretch of concrete up to the tramway was very difficult.  Great memories!
