Traveled the two hrs to the Marion Mt camp ground and started up the trail at 630am as the first light was breaking over the surrounding peaks. Lots of water running over the trails and forming thin ice sheets, the trip up was fairly easy and I did not use crampons. Five and a bit hours to reach the summit with a very clear day giving the 360 view. Traveled back down as quickly as I could with a short day this time of year but the ice had now become very slippery making it slower, I made it back to my car by 430pm and the sun just behind the peaks but still daylight.
