Parked outside the gate walked 2 miles each way to the trailhead, from there it was ok up until you reach another 2 miles then the trail conditions were a bit steep w/ scree and coming back down wasn’t easy. Trekking poles are a must. You get to the forest side then the bugs had a feast on you. It was terrible. I suggest you wear a bugs neat. This would be a nice hike with better weather conditions and w/out BUGS!.
