Today we hiked up santiago via the truck trail. We wanted to try the harder, longer Joplin trail, but we both had events to get to that night, so we opted for a shorter hike with lunch in Silverado.
the trail has great views. Very exposed, so hats and sun shirts were used.

the bugs are getting pretty bad. Like, don’t stop and think you’re going to have a snack, bad.  What made it tolerable though was that most of them were lady bugs. Like swarms of them. It was actually really neat.

don’t get me wrong though, there were lots of annoying flies.  Get this hike done soon if it’s still on your list.

after the hiker we stopped at the market in Silverado and ordered some sandwiches to take to the patio. They have a great (old school country) music playing, a neat little water fountain, and a glorious view.  The sandwiches were great too, but that couldn’t have been the post hike hunger talking.
