We started at the start of the trail at 6:45, and we didn’t know that Sierra Madre was having a cross country race event today so we where pressured to reach Orchard Camp, )3.5 miles with 3,000 plus feet of elevation) from the start of trail head 🤦🏽♂️ within the next 45 minutes 😅 and it did not happened. We were pull aside to let the runner finish the race. It was fun cheering 📣 on the races but our bodies cooled down and it was a big challenging restarting our hike to the summit. Since it was our fist time holding this trail you know we kept asking the infamous question “ how much longer to the top?” People kept telling us you’re almost there when in reality we still had like 2 miles to and like 1,500 feet of elevation 🤦🏽♂️. For me “You’re almost there” means you have less than 1/4 of a mile to go 😅. We eventually reach the top and grab a bite at the Cosmic Café, took our boots of to get grounded and took a well deserved nap 😴. Once we were done with our nap it didn’t fail to ask if we should Hitch trike it right back to our cars since we were having second thoughts and hiking back down. One of our friend said we shouldn’t because we would be cheating. With the gilt in us we quickly got our stuff and started to descend the summit. Over all the trail was very nice and clean pleanty of shade and a Cafe waiting at the summit to refuel. I will definitely do this hike again.
