Parking lot was still closed but plentiful on the side road. Quite a few hikers noted. Trail was in good condition. Know that we share the trail with equine & canine, so eyes on the road!! The last half mile you'll scramble up and bear crawl  (backward for me, haha) going down from the peak. A pair of shoes with great traction is a must! Bugs were everywhere but never considered a nuisance. It could get very warm fast. We thought start time around 0600 could spare us from the warmth & mild humidity. Thank goodness, mild cool breeze we would encounter sporadically. Blooming wildflowers & greeneries were a refreshing sight. The views from atop was breathtaking.
