Swarms of gnats!  Also a lot of bees.  I actually inhaled a bug of some sort.  Otherwise the trail is pretty easy until the last 0.9 miles where it is steep with lots of loose sand and rocks.  Summit is pretty – views of the ocean, Catalina island, Santiago Peak, San Gorgonio, and some of the SD peaks.  Not crowded at all today.  Great hike!
