Rain or shine, on January 26th we completed or 2nd peak, Sitton Peak. What a spectacular view from the summit! The weather gods were on our side, keeping us mostly dry, with just a sprinkle mid-hike to give our gear and adventurous attitude a test. And we passed! The trail is in good shape, and pretty easy to follow. It was 48 degrees and breezy at the summit so we made quick time snapping pics with the signs and headed down just below the summit into the bushes for a wind block and sat in the sun for warmth while we ate lunch for about 3o minutes. We took the Bear Ridge and Sitton Peak loop trail. Started around 11am to hit a weather window showing minimal rain, and finished around 5pm. We used Lake Elsinore as the location to gauge the weather days leading up and it proved fairly accurate.Â
