On my days off, I do a tough hike to train for Mt. Whitney. I was so exhausted from work, I ended up sleeping in so I had to pick a hike that wasn't to long but still challenging. Then highway 2 pose a challenge. On Google maps, it said it's closed but further research it wasn't through Wrightwood. We didn't start the hike until a quarter till 2pm. The weather was perfect, in the high 70s with a nice cool breeze. There's a lot of shade on the trail which is a bonus. It's a very nice gradual incline but don't get me wrong my legs were burning towards the top. As you get closer to the summit, there were a few snow patches to cross. We met a couple at the summit who is hiking the entire PCT. They blew my mind and I envy their drive and determination. It took us about 5 hours total to do the hike including our lunch break at the top. I can't wait to hike it again.
