Intermittent snow – not hard to cross

We started out early and got ahead of the crowd.  Towards the top it very slippery in certain areas and cold.  But,  we loved it! Beautiful day! We came back Azalea Loop Trail which had lots of snow on it still.  It made for more fun and trying to stay in other people's tracks.  The climb up was not that bad on the fire road but we did not want to go back the same way.  Enjoy the loop and the sounds of silence by starting early.   I also went investigating and found the marker at the top.  Wished we spent more time up there but the wind was whipping and we wanted to enjoy our time coming back down the mountain.
