We setoff from the Oak Grove Trailhead parking lot, next to the fire station on the north side.  The trail was well worn and easy to follow, then it merges  with a fire road that takes you all the way up! Unfortunately there no shade on the fire road until about a mile from the lookout tower.  At the top the views are amazing so go for it!

    1. We hot the trail from the parking area at around 740am. We got to the peak at about 1030’ish. After a bit of lunch and rest we started off the peak at 1130. With zero shade on the fire road and little breeze it got hot quick. The difficult part was transitioning from the fire road to the trail, the trail is very steep with loose sand and rocks, and again with very lions shade it was arduous. But overall a good sweaty hike and done by 2pm.
