This was a real tough mountain. I had to take lots of breaks to catch my breath – but we still climbed it in 2-1/2 hours.

The whole hike is a real adventure – lots of steep climbing, breathtaking views, and beautiful change of vegetation. I feel incredibly accomplished having conquered Mount Mansfield 🙂

We opted to climb down Laura Cowles Trail which was very wet, and we had to go real slow. It took us 2 hours to climb down.

The trail was busy but not too crowded. We arrived at 10:30 at the parking lot and it felt that we just about scored one of the last few spots left to park. It might have been due to the fact that the camping ground is right there as well.

Overall an inspiring trip to remember.
